Reformed Church of Newtown Chinese School serves our community through teaching children Mandarin and promoting Chinese culture and heritage. Our goal is to help our students to build a healthy personality and find their self identity in this multicultural society. We welcome all families who are interested in learning Mandarin to join us！
We emphasize a whole-person approach in our Religion Classes. Our teachers are patient and attentive as they assist the students in building up confidence and morale in this ever-changing environment.
Our Language Classes teach Traditional Characters and PinYin in small class lectures. Using “Let’s Learn Chinese,” the course content is closely related to students’ everyday lives. Step by step, the students will accumulate skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Our students are from ages 5 to 14 and divided into Beginner, Basic, Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Book 4, Book 5, Book 7, and Book 9.

我們採用拼音繁體及小班教學，教材使用《學華語向前走》，課程內容與學生生活息息相關，並且循序漸進，培養學生增加中文聽說讀寫的能力，目前班級分為：入門班、基礎班、第一冊、第二冊、第三冊、第四冊、第五冊、第六冊、和第九冊，學生從五歲到十四歲。

The Reformed Church of Newtown Chinese School is the ideal setting for learning to speak, read, and write Chinese.
We welcome students from all levels, spanning from beginners to intermediate to advanced. Both pinyin and zhuyin phonetic systems are taught. The teachers are not only passionate about teaching Chinese, but also dedicated to engaging the students in an interactive environment. In addition, class sizes are small, optimal for increasing student performance.

For safety reasons, students CANNOT leave church premises during school hours including the break time.
As part of the Chinese School curriculum, all students are required to attend religion class.
